Crest Trust Badges ("the App") is developed by Digital Cartel ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What Data We Collect

The App collects no data whatsoever. It is a theme app extension that runs entirely within your Shopify theme.

• No server-side storage — The App has no backend, no database, and no server.
• No API calls — The App makes zero external requests.
• No cookies — The App does not set any cookies on your visitors' devices.
• No tracking — No analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting of any kind.

What We Do NOT Collect

• Customer data (names, emails, addresses, payment info)
• Order or product data
• Analytics or tracking data
• Browsing behaviour of your store visitors
• IP addresses
• Any personal information of any kind

How the App Works

Crest Trust Badges is a pure theme app extension. All logic runs inside your Shopify theme:

• Badge blocks are rendered by Shopify's theme engine as part of your store's HTML
• All badge settings (icons, colours, labels, layout) are stored in Shopify's native theme settings — not on our servers
• No data is sent to any external server — ours or otherwise
• The App functions entirely without a backend

Data Storage & Security

There is no data to store or secure on our end. Badge configuration lives entirely within Shopify's theme settings infrastructure. When you change a badge setting, that change is saved by Shopify — not by us.

Data Retention

There is no data to retain. When you uninstall the App:

• The theme extension is removed by Shopify automatically
• No data remains on any server because none was ever collected
• Theme settings may remain in your Shopify theme until you manually remove the blocks

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. Zero external requests are made by the App.

Your Rights

You can:

• Disable or remove badge blocks at any time via your theme customizer
• Uninstall the App for complete removal
• Contact us with any questions about this policy

GDPR, CCPA & POPIA

Since the App collects no personal data from you or your store visitors, compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and POPIA is guaranteed by design. There is no personal data processed, stored, or transmitted — ever. No consent banners, data subject requests, or data processing agreements are required in relation to this App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
